South Korea reports two fatal accidents in Gyeongsangnam-do province

A 60‑year‑old cafeteria employee at a hospital in Gimhae died after falling with a handcart into an elevator shaft. Police said the elevator door opened while the employee was pushing the cart, causing the fall. An investigation into possible elevator malfunction is under way.

In a separate incident off the coast of Changwon, a 50‑year‑old man who went out to collect shellfish was reported missing. The Coast Guard located him about 40 minutes later in cardiac arrest; he was taken to a hospital but later died. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of his death.
