South Korea weather: Heavy fog and large temperature gaps forecast

On the final day of the Chuseok holiday, South Korea is experiencing typical autumn weather characterized by clear skies in most areas, though some cloudiness is expected in the afternoon. A significant temperature gap of approximately 10 to 15 degrees Celsius between day and night is forecasted across inland regions, including Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong, increasing the risk of colds.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has issued warnings regarding heavy fog, with visibility dropping below 200 meters in some inland areas and near coastal bridges, rivers, and lakes. Drivers are advised to reduce speed to prevent accidents. Additionally, due to strong lunar gravity during the spring tide period, residents in low-lying coastal areas should be cautious of potential flooding and sewage backflow during high tide.
