South Korean automakers launch free vehicle inspections for Chuseok holiday

Major South Korean automakers are launching free vehicle inspection services ahead of the Chuseok holiday to ensure driver safety during long-distance travel. According to the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA), five major domestic manufacturers—Hyundai Motor, Kia, GM Korea, Renault Korea, and KG Mobility—will operate extensive service networks across the country.

Hyundai, Kia, GM Korea, and KG Mobility will provide services from September 21 to 23. Renault Korea will offer a longer service window, operating for five weekdays from September 17 to 23. The inspections will cover essential components including engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, battery status, tire pressure and wear, air conditioning systems, lighting, and brake pads. Some manufacturers will also provide additional services such as scanner self-diagnostics and washer fluid refills.

To access these services, Hyundai and Kia customers must download coupons through their respective mobile applications between September 9 and 11. The service networks include thousands of locations, such as Hyundai’s Bluehands and Kia’s Auto Q centers. Additionally, all five manufacturers will maintain emergency roadside assistance teams throughout the holiday period to assist drivers in the event of breakdowns or accidents.
