South Korean cities Incheon and Busan host 2026 Youth Week festivals

Major South Korean cities Incheon and Busan held their respective 2026 Youth Week festivals to engage young citizens through policy discussions, career support, and cultural events.

Incheon concluded a five-day event held from the 16th to the 20th, which drew approximately 1,000 participants. The program included debates on establishing a youth foundation and fund, job fairs at Inha and Incheon Universities, and a startup flea market. Mayor Park Chan-dae emphasized the city's commitment to creating high-quality jobs in AI, bio, content, and energy industries to support youth stability in housing and mental health.

Simultaneously, Busan hosted its Youth Week from the 18th to the 20th at Busan Port First Pier. The festival, themed ‘Different Youths, One Voyage Toward Busan,’ featured career lectures, social networking events, and a DJ party. The event included a policy talk concert where Mayor Jeon Jae-soo engaged directly with young citizens to listen to their policy suggestions and ideas.
