South Korean educational institutions expand practical industry-linked training
Educational institutions in South Korea are expanding practical training programs through industry and university partnerships to enhance student career readiness.
Gongju Meister High School recently conducted a joint curriculum program with the Korea University of Technology and Education. The three-day program for first-year students focused on high-tech practical skills, including generative AI, no-code applications, power facility management, PLC programming, and industrial robot operation.
Similarly, the eSports department at Dongyang University implemented a specialized training program in collaboration with Gen.G during the summer break. Utilizing a unique ‘four-semester per year’ system, the department integrates regular academic theory with intensive field-based training during vacations. This initiative aims to prepare students for the rapidly evolving eSports industry by providing direct exposure to professional job roles and industry requirements.
