South Korea implements Chuseok holiday welfare and safety measures

Various regions and organizations across South Korea are implementing welfare and safety measures in preparation for the Chuseok holiday.

Community support initiatives include food sharing programs for vulnerable populations. The Geoje Haegeumgang Rotary Club prepared traditional holiday meals for the elderly and disabled, while the Buk-gu Volunteer Center distributed meal kits to 350 households. In Gangnam, the Nonhyeon Senior Welfare Center and Korea Racing Authority provided food kits to 100 seniors. Additionally, Baekseok Culture University collaborated with Cheonan City to provide rice cake sets to elderly residents living alone.

Local governments and law enforcement are also active. Paju City has launched comprehensive measures covering medical, transportation, and waste management. In Andong, police and city officials are coordinating crime prevention efforts, while Sejong City is implementing public safety plans. Local councils in Dongducheon and Suncheon have also conducted visits to welfare facilities to deliver essential goods like rice and noodles.
