South Korean tech startups secure government R&D funding for AI and robotics

South Korean technology startups Tredlinx and Clerobotics have been selected for government-backed R&D programs to advance AI and robotics in the logistics and manufacturing sectors.

Tredlinx, an AI supply chain data platform, has been chosen for the ‘Scale-up TIPS R&D’ project led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The company will receive approximately 2 billion KRW over three years to develop a ‘Multi-Agent’ AI system. This system aims to optimize logistics flows—including arrival prediction and route recommendation—using explainable AI. The project involves collaboration with Pusan National University and KAIST.

Clerobotics, a 3D machine vision startup, has been selected for the ‘Global TIPS R&D’ program. The company will invest 6.2 billion KRW through June 2030 to develop an integrated bin-picking platform. This technology utilizes 3D vision cameras and AI to enable robots to identify and pick irregular objects like boxes and bags in logistics centers. Clerobotics intends to expand its existing automotive manufacturing expertise into the broader logistics and inspection markets.
