South Pacific tourism operators launch Australian trade roadshows
Tourism operators from the South Pacific are engaging with the Australian market through major trade roadshows. The Vanuatu Tourism Office is launching its first ‘Tok Tok Vanuatu’ trade event in Australia, with scheduled roadshows in Brisbane and Sydney on October 13 and 14. The initiative aims to connect tourism operators from across Vanuatu’s 83 islands with Australian travel advisors, following a 42% increase in visitor numbers from Australia in January 2026 compared to January 2020.
Separately, the Treasures of the South Pacific (ToSP) 2026 Australian Roadshow concluded with record attendance. The series spanned six cities, including the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Wollongong, Sydney, and Melbourne. Representing 11 Pacific Island destinations, the program was designed to increase destination knowledge among travel agents. ToSP President Richard Skewes noted the strong interest in the region and confirmed the roadshow will return in 2027.
