South Papua proposes 500 houses for agricultural extension workers
The South Papua Provincial Government has proposed the construction of 500 housing units for agricultural extension workers to strengthen food security and agricultural productivity in the region.
Vice Governor Paskalis Imadawa stated that providing adequate housing and office facilities is essential for these workers to operate optimally, particularly given the vast service areas and challenging geographical conditions in Papua. The provincial government is requesting that the Ministry of Agriculture prioritize this need to support field workers at the district level.
Imadawa emphasized that extension workers serve as a vital link between government programs and local farmers. By improving the welfare and working conditions of these professionals, the government aims to enhance farmer capacity, business productivity, and overall agricultural output in the territory.
