South Sinai Governor Opens Handicraft Exhibition to Boost Local Heritage
Lt. Gen. Dr. Ismail Kamal, governor of South Sinai, inaugurated a handicraft and Bedouin products exhibition at the Family Destination in Tur, South Sinai. The event was organized by the Directorate of Handicrafts and Cooperatives together with the Directorate of Social Solidarity, the regional branch of the National Council for Women and the online marketing platform “Ayadi Egypt”.
About 30 women artisans and family‑run producers displayed a range of traditional Sinai crafts, highlighting local cultural identity. The governor praised the quality and creativity of the items and reiterated the administration’s commitment to supporting small‑scale enterprises, creating jobs and improving household incomes. He linked the exhibition to Egypt’s Vision 2030 goals of sustainable development, women‑ and youth‑empowerment, and expanding market access through e‑commerce platforms.
Deputy governor Dr. Inas Samir, Secretary‑General Lt. Gen. Ihab Makawi, Tur mayor Ali Hamada, several Senate members and local sheikhs attended the opening, underscoring the official support for the region’s heritage‑based economy.
