Argentina’s agro and meat exports surge over 40% in the first half of 2026

Argentina’s beef exports grew more than 40% in the first six months of 2026, helped by a promotion campaign in the United States and by new Chinese export‑plant approvals for Argentine frigoríficos. In June, the United States overtook the EU to become the second‑largest market for Argentine beef, while China remained the top buyer.

Overall agro‑industrial shipments reached a near‑record US$ 27 billion in the first half of the year, with the sector delivering 52.8 million tonnes of grains, sub‑products and oils – a 9% year‑on‑year increase and the highest volume ever recorded for the period. The province of Entre Ríos alone exceeded US$ 1 billion in exports, driven mainly by wheat, corn and beef.

Other regions also reported export gains: Spain’s Murcia region posted a 4.8% rise to over €6 billion, while the Argentine port of Bahía Blanca saw a 19% jump in grain volumes. These trends underscore the broader strength of export markets across the Americas and Europe in early 2026.
