Southern Giant Brigades advance toward Bab el-Mandeb Strait

Military operations are intensifying near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait as the Southern Giant Brigades and other government-aligned forces advance against Houthi militia positions. Field reports indicate that the Southern Giant Brigades have breached Houthi defensive lines, penetrating the strategic ‘Shaab al-Jinn’ camp and moving toward coastal areas near Perim Island.

The advance is reportedly slowed by extensive Houthi landmines. Approximately 500 Houthi fighters remain besieged in the area, regrouping within the ‘Al-Ardi’ camp and a network of tunnels and trenches. While Houthi forces use small boats to ferry supplies across the sea, government and coalition naval assets are reportedly preparing to intercept these maritime supply lines.

In the Dhubab district, clashes continue as coalition airstrikes target Houthi reinforcements. While government forces maintain control of the Dhubab airport, fighting remains heavy in the Al-Ardi and Al-Omari areas. The conflict holds high strategic importance due to the proximity to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a critical international maritime corridor for global trade and oil transit.
