Southern Yemeni delegation in Riyadh affirms stance against Houthi threats

A Southern Yemeni delegation meeting in Riyadh has affirmed a unified stance against Houthi threats and emphasized the necessity of addressing the political rights of the Southern people to achieve a sustainable peace. The delegation condemned the Houthi militia's actions, specifically targeting international maritime navigation, trade routes, and civilian vessels, while also denouncing attempts to target Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council interests.

The group highlighted that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf is inseparable from the security of Southern Yemen and the wider region. They expressed appreciation for the Arab Coalition's role, led by Saudi Arabia, in supporting the Yemeni people and defending regional stability.

Regarding the Southern cause, the delegation described it as a just political issue resulting from the failure of the unification project. They called for a comprehensive Southern dialogue to establish a consensus on the region's future and rejected any attempts to fragment the Southern identity or political unity. The delegation stressed that any lasting political settlement must respect the will of the Southern people and their right to self-determination.
