Brazil agriculture reaches record R$ 927 billion production value
Brazil's agricultural sector reached a record production value of R$ 927.2 billion in 2025, an 18.4% increase from the previous year. According to IBGE, the total volume of cereals, legumes, and oilseeds reached 345.4 million tons. Looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, Conab estimates a soybean cultivated area of 49.3 million hectares. The national grain production for the 2026/27 harvest is projected to reach 366.6 million tons, a 1.3% increase. Additionally, canola production is expected to grow significantly, with an estimated 601.3 thousand tons for the 2025/26 season.
In the livestock and protein markets, the average price of chilled chicken surpassed that of special pork carcass in September, a market inversion not seen since 2004. Meanwhile, the sugarcane sector faces challenges due to excessive rainfall in the Center-South region, which may impact sugar quality and extend the milling period.
