Space Camp Turkey hosts students from Turkic states in Izmir
The Space Explorers Turkey Space Camp program was held in Izmir from August 23 to 29, organized through a collaboration between the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and Space Camp Turkey. Hosted by ESBAŞ in the Gaziemir district, the event brought together 65 students and 12 teachers from member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, and Turkey.
Participants engaged in space and astronomy education, scientific experiments, astronaut simulators, and various workshops. Turkish astronaut Tuva Cihangir Atasever attended the program to share insights regarding astronaut training, suborbital research flight experiences, and scientific work conducted in microgravity environments. TUA President Yusuf Kıraç emphasized the importance of science and space studies for the future of the Turkic world.
