Turkic states youth space camp in Turkey

Overview

The Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and Space Camp Turkey organized the ‘TUA Space Explorers Turkey Space Camp Program’ in Izmir from August 23 to 29, 2026. The initiative brought together 65 students and 12 teachers from member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Northern Cyprus.

Participants engaged in space and astronomy education, scientific experiments, and astronaut simulators. Turkish astronaut Tuva Cihangir Atasever attended to share insights on astronaut training and microgravity research. The program, which provided scholarships for accommodation and education, aimed to strengthen scientific cooperation and cultural interaction among youth in the Turkic world.

During the certificate ceremony, TUA President Yusuf Kıraç stated that the participants represent the future of their nations and the broader region, emphasizing the importance of space studies for the future of the Turkic world.
