SpaceX Falcon 9 launches new satellite constellations for Satellogic and Sateliot

Multiple satellite deployment missions were successfully completed via SpaceX Falcon 9 launches from Vandenberg Space Force Base in early October 2026.

Satellogic launched its first Merlin satellite along with three NewSat spacecraft into sun-synchronous low-Earth orbit. The Merlin platform is designed for global detection and continuous awareness, utilizing onboard AI processing and inter-satellite links to provide rapid alerts and cue high-resolution imaging from NewSat Mark VI satellites. The satellites have established contact with ground stations and are reporting healthy subsystem status.

Separately, telecommunications operator Sateliot deployed five 6U CubeSats, manufactured by Alén Space, as part of its Draconis 5G NTN IoT mission. These satellites, positioned at an altitude of 510 kilometers, function as orbiting cell towers to provide Narrowband IoT connectivity to remote maritime, agricultural, and energy sectors. This deployment doubles Sateliot’s orbital fleet to eleven satellites, effectively halving ground revisit times for remote industrial devices.
