Spain adds 55 affordable homes in Balearic Islands and Barcelona

The Balearic Islands government and the Pollença town council announced a new public housing scheme in the Port of Pollença. The project will deliver 28 municipal rental units, with a budget of €6.1 million (excluding VAT) and construction slated to begin this year. Preference will be given to applicants who have lived in the municipality for at least ten years, effectively doubling the town’s stock of publicly‑owned rental housing.

In Barcelona, social real‑estate investment vehicle Primero H purchased a block of 27 apartments in the Horta‑Guinardó district. The units will be rented at no more than €500 per month, part of the firm’s strategy to expand affordable‑rent housing in high‑tension markets. The acquisition brings Primero H’s owned portfolio to 56 homes and its managed stock to 136 across Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, supported by a €1.5 million impact‑social loan from the Ministry of Inclusion’s fund.
