Spain adds video assistance and direct deposit for 2025 tax filings
During the 2025 income‑tax campaign, the Spanish Tax Agency is urging taxpayers to provide an IBAN so refunds and payments can be processed directly through the SEPA system. Banks such as CaixaBank offer accounts that meet the requirements, allowing the agency to transfer refunds or charge payments automatically without needing further access to account activity.
To help residents of small, ageing municipalities in Andalusia, the agency is extending the "Le Llamamos" video‑assistance programme. Six towns with a combined population of 8,913, including 2,275 people over 65, can book appointments and receive personal help in municipal facilities to complete their returns. The service runs until 30 June 2025 and requires a prior appointment via the agency’s website, app, or phone lines. Experts note that the digital divide makes such assistance essential for older citizens in rural areas.
