Spain adopts new pharmacy verification decree to streamline drug dispensing

A new Spanish real decree updates the system for verifying medicines, shifting it toward a more digital and efficient process. The reform aims to simplify internal pharmacy procedures, reduce manual tasks, and improve traceability while maintaining patient safety.

The measure also plans to phase out the "coupon seal" used on certain drugs, a step welcomed by the sector as it removes an administrative burden without compromising control. By freeing up time, pharmacies can focus more on patient care and counseling.
