Spain advances in global AI investment and sports technology
Spain is strengthening its position in the global technology and innovation landscape, particularly within the sectors of artificial intelligence and sports technology.
In Barcelona, a report by IBM Consulting identifies the city as the third-largest global hub for attracting foreign investment projects dedicated to artificial intelligence, trailing only London and Singapore. Barcelona also ranks as the top city in the European Union for mobilizing AI financing projects. The AI sector in Catalonia currently generates an aggregate business volume of approximately 2.155 billion euros, supporting around 14,500 specialized professionals across nearly 500 companies.
Meanwhile, Valencia has launched the first edition of DLD Sports at the La Marina de Valencia. This international forum serves as a meeting point for athletes, investors, scientists, and executives to explore the intersection of sports, science, and business. The event focuses on how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and data analysis, are transforming athletic performance, organizational management, and fan engagement.
