Spain agrifood exports reach record value amid rising EU fruit production

Spain's agrifood and fishing exports reached a record 78,044 million euros in 2025, a 2.9% increase from the previous year. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, pork meat and olive oil led these exports, with pork valued at 6,655 million euros and olive oil at 4,838 million euros. Other top exports included citrus, fresh vegetables, and wine.

In the first half of 2026, Spanish fresh fruit and vegetable exports grew by 5.8% in value, totaling 11,605 million euros, despite a slight 0.6% decrease in volume. Notable growth was seen in cucumber exports, which rose 19% in value, and zucchini, which saw a 33.5% value increase.

On a broader scale, European stone fruit production is projected to rise by 9% in the 2026/27 campaign, reaching approximately 3.5 million tons. This recovery follows previous frost-related losses. Spain, Italy, Greece, and France are identified as the primary producers, with Spain specifically expecting a 6% increase in peach and nectarine production compared to the previous year.
