Spain allocates €20 million for irrigation and sewage network projects

The Confederación Hidrográfica del Tajo (CHT) has begun contracts to maintain and conserve the Ambroz and Alagón irrigation zones in the province of Cáceres. The investment totals about €9 million and runs through 2029, covering roughly 40,000 ha of agricultural land. Work includes upkeep of canals, ditches, gates, and related structures to ensure water delivery during irrigation seasons.

In the Madrid region, Canal de Isabel II awarded a consortium of Sacyr Agua (60%) and Ocide Construcción (40%) an €11 million contract for the conservation and maintenance of peripheral sewage networks in Torrelaguna and surrounding municipalities. The 48‑month agreement covers more than 660 km of sewers serving over 100,000 residents, with tasks such as cleaning, inspection, and infrastructure upgrades.
