Spain allocates €33.5k for Tírig traffic cameras and €83.8m for Valencian road upkeep

The provincial council of Castellón will fully fund the installation of three intelligent traffic‑control cameras in the municipality of Tírig, investing €33,515.99. The project, part of the “Una província protegida” programme, aims to improve monitoring of vehicle entries and exits in the town of fewer than 5,000 residents. Mayor Juanjo Carreres said the technology will enhance safety and assist security forces without adding cost to the municipal budget.

The Spanish government has authorized €83.78 million (VAT excluded) for the conservation and operation of state roads in the Valencian Community. In Alicante, €67.5 million will cover works on 170 km of roads, mainly autovías, including sections of the A‑31, A‑7, A‑70 and related links. A second lot of €31.7 million targets additional stretches of the A‑31, A‑33 and other routes, introducing speed‑change lanes and other improvements. In Castellón, €16.2 million will fund maintenance on 165 km of the N‑340, N‑232, N‑232A and N‑238 corridors, with contracts spanning three to five years and provisions for winter service, safety studies and energy‑efficiency measures.
