Spain approves €430 million AI and chip investment, Peru launches AI advisory platform
The Spanish government has approved new public investments exceeding €430 million to boost artificial‑intelligence (AI) and high‑performance‑computing chip projects. The package includes a €300 million voluntary contribution to EuroHPC and a €107 million stake in the quantum‑software firm Multiverse Computing, with the aim of positioning Spain to host an EU AI gigafactory and strengthen its tech competitiveness.
In Peru, the Ministry of Production introduced MAIA, a free AI‑driven advisory service delivered via WhatsApp. MAIA provides 24‑hour guidance to micro‑ and small enterprises, fishers, aquaculturists and cooperatives, helping them access information on formalisation, management, financing and sector‑specific programs to improve productivity and reduce digital gaps.
