Spain commemorates International Day of Caregivers
In Spain, local authorities and regional leaders have held events to mark the International Day of Caregivers. In Móstoles, the third edition of the itinerant exhibition “Vidas que Cuentan” (Lives that Count) was inaugurated at the Museo de la Ciudad. The exhibition, which coincides with the November 5 observance, aims to share the stories of caregivers and will travel to various municipal spaces.
In Andalusia, the regional Minister of Social Services, Families, and Equality, Loles López, visited La Palma del Condado to recognize the work of both family and professional caregivers. During the visit, López highlighted that the number of people benefiting from dependency systems in Andalusia has increased by 70 percent since 2018. She noted that the region currently manages approximately half of all Home Help Service (SAD) benefits in Spain.
