Spain e-commerce revenue grows 15% in early 2026
E-commerce in Spain experienced a 15.1% increase in revenue during the first quarter of 2026, reaching 29,643 million euros, according to data from the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC). This follows a record-breaking 2025, where online sales exceeded 114,800 million euros.
Travel remains a primary driver for the sector. Travel agencies and tour operators accounted for 8.7% of total billing, followed by air transport at 6.4%. The number of transactions also saw significant growth, with over 549 million operations recorded in the quarter, a 16% increase compared to the previous year. Notably, gambling and betting led in terms of transaction volume, representing 9.9% of the total due to the high frequency of low-value purchases.
Despite the domestic growth, a significant portion of consumer spending is directed toward foreign websites. Data indicates that Spanish consumers spent 16,604 million euros on international platforms during this period.
