Spain earmarks €57 million for flood protection in Andújar and road upgrades in Toledo

The Spanish central government will fund 21 flood‑prevention projects in the municipality of Andújar, Jaén, with an overall investment of more than €52.5 million. The programme includes dismantling river defenses, building new drainage and sewage treatment facilities, and supporting farmers and rural roads, as part of a package exceeding €400 million for reconstruction after winter storms across 94 municipalities.

The regional government of Castilla‑La Mancha announced a €5 million investment for 2026 to improve nine road sections in the province of Toledo. The plan covers roughly 100 km of roads, including upgrades to the CM‑5002 bridge over the Alberche River and other stretches such as the CM‑4001 and CM‑4019, aiming to enhance safety and traffic flow for thousands of daily vehicles.
