Two new forest fires erupted in Spain. In the province of Cáceres a truck fire quickly spread to vegetation, prompting the evacuation of more than 800 residents from Casas de Millán and Grimaldo. Strong winds reignited a separate blaze near Lleida in Catalonia, and a fire near Senet in steep terrain saw five firefighting aircraft deployed. The highest point of the flames reached about 2,300 m, and no injuries have been reported. Both incidents are being managed at the lowest danger level (1) amid a season that has seen roughly 43 smaller fires active across the country.

German fire units from North Rhine‑Westphalia and Lower Saxony were sent to Spain under the EU forest‑fire module. About 56 personnel with 21 vehicles from NRW and a team from Lower Saxony arrived in Castilla y León and surrounding areas, assisting local crews. After roughly 1.5 days the situation was deemed under control, and the German units returned home early, ending the EU‑module deployment.

The fires form part of one of the most severe fire series in recent Spanish history, with tens of thousands of hectares burned in regions such as Ávila.
