Spain expands road safety education for children in Vícar and Ciudad Real

In Vícar, the municipal road‑safety program reached about 300 preschoolers from seven local nurseries, giving them hands‑on experience in a traffic park and bicycle training during three‑hour sessions in May. Mayor Antonio Bonilla highlighted the aim of fostering early awareness of traffic rules and safe travel habits among the youngest residents.

In Ciudad Real, the Local Police handed out prizes at the 26th Road‑Safety Education Contest after more than 6,000 primary‑school pupils attended classroom lessons and around 900 used the traffic‑park course. The top three winners received helmets and bicycles, and officials stressed the importance of teaching respect for traffic norms and broader civic values.
