Spain's summer vacation spending climbs, home security measures rise
Spanish consumers are set to increase their summer holiday expenditure in 2026. A survey by Aladinia finds the average spend per person for August vacations will be €1,130, with 85% planning to travel within Spain and 47% of the budget earmarked for accommodation and restaurant meals. TheFork’s poll shows 88% of Spaniards will keep or raise their restaurant budget, with 62% combining dining out with meals at their lodging.
At the same time, home‑security provider Verisure España warns that the holiday season heightens burglary risk, reporting a 34% rise in robbery probability during vacation periods and noting that 94% of the population considers security very important. About 86.7% of households already have one or more protective measures in place.
