Spain funds road repairs in Andalusia after severe rains

The provincial government of Almería is carrying out nine interventions on the AL-7100 and AL-9102 highways to improve drainage and protect against landslides caused by the torrential rains of October 2024. The works, overseen by Deputy for Infrastructure Antonio J. Rodríguez together with Oria mayor Marcos Reche, are funded with €220,000 and include stone walls, concrete slabs and upgraded culverts.

In the neighbouring province of Málaga, the Spanish central government has allocated €7.81 million to rebuild 23 damaged roads under a post‑storm reconstruction plan. The sub‑delegate Javier Salas announced the funding, stressing swift national action despite political criticism from Málaga’s provincial president Francisco Salado. The programme covers 24 reconstruction tasks on routes such as MA‑3300, MA‑3112 and MA‑8300, aiming to restore safe traffic flow for residents and businesses.
