Fuel Prices Surge Across Spain, Mexico, Chile and Guatemala

On July 20‑21 2026 a wave of regional fuel price updates showed higher costs for gasoline, diesel and premium grades in several countries. In Spain, the average price of gasoline 95 rose to €1.63 per litre and diesel to €1.68 per litre, marking up to a 13 % increase in provinces such as León and Albacete. In Mexico, the Comisión Reguladora de Energía reported average prices of MXN 23.94 for Magna gasoline in Hermosillo and around MXN 28‑29 for premium grades in Jalisco and Quintana Roo. Chile’s Copec introduced a temporary discount of 100 pesos per litre on 93‑97 octane fuels in 32 communes. In Guatemala, market vendors in La Terminal protested a recent fuel‑price hike, urging the president to act. The data, compiled from national ministries, the CRE and local monitoring portals, highlighted significant regional variation and growing consumer concern about transport costs.
