Spain implements new emergency safeguard plans for Alhambra and Badajoz

Spanish authorities are implementing new emergency and risk management protocols to protect cultural and municipal assets. The Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife has launched a tender to develop a safeguard plan specifically for the Nasrid Palaces. This initiative aims to identify and prevent risks from natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods, as well as human-caused emergencies like fires, ensuring the protection and recovery of these historical sites.

In Badajoz, the municipal government has approved the Municipal Action Plan for Flood Risk (Pamin). This roadmap coordinates municipal and emergency services before, during, and after flooding events. The plan covers the entire municipality, including rural areas and isolated homes, to address the high risk and extreme danger levels identified in the region's civil protection framework.
