Spain infrastructure: A-11 highway opening and station renovations

Spain's Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, announced that at least 26 kilometers of the A-11 highway, connecting Tudela del Duero and Quintanilla in Valladolid, are expected to open on August 24. The opening follows delays caused by disagreements between the Ministry and local administrations regarding road safety guarantees on connecting local routes. To address these concerns, the Ministry has modified the original plan by removing a planned link in Tudela del Duero and implementing alternative routes with restrictions for heavy vehicles.

In a separate infrastructure update, the remodeling of the Molins de Rei Renfe station is progressing according to schedule. Territorial Minister Sílvia Paneque confirmed that the project, which aims to modernize the facility and improve accessibility through new elevators, underground passages, and extended 200-meter platforms, is slated for completion by the end of summer 2027.
