Spain invests over €7 million in upgrades to Cerro Muriano hostel and Ceuta Parador

The provincial Albergue of Cerro Muriano in Córdoba province is entering the first phase of a multi‑year renovation plan worth €1.196 million. The project focuses on energy efficiency, a new shaded sports pavilion with photovoltaic panels, and upgrades to dormitories, swimming‑pool areas and surrounding landscaping, with further phases scheduled through 2029.

Meanwhile, the Parador de Turismo La Muralla in Ceuta is undergoing a €6 million modernization programme. Works include the installation of an aerothermal water‑heating system, a new heat‑pump for climate control, refurbishment of public spaces, and upgrades to plumbing and lighting. The improvements are aimed at enhancing visitor facilities and supporting the city’s role in the upcoming 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Both initiatives are funded by regional authorities and aim to improve sustainability and the tourist offering of historic Spanish sites.
