Spain unveils €300 million 'Innovación X clima' financing scheme for SMEs
Spain's Ministry of Industry and Tourism has opened the 'Innovación X clima' programme, allocating €300 million in participatory loans to small and medium‑size enterprises that develop climate‑resilient innovations. The funding, managed through ENISA's FEPYME fund, targets projects that improve efficiency, anticipate risks and aid recovery from environmental emergencies.
Other financial initiatives across Europe and the Iberian Peninsula are also highlighted. The public loan line ICO Crecimiento, promoted by the Instituto de Crédito Oficial, offers digital loans of up to ten‑year terms to Spanish SMEs with at least four years of activity, including financing for intangible assets such as patents and software. In Spain, the Ley de la Segunda Oportunidad has been used to erase over €1.1 million of debt for a family, part of a broader effort that has helped more than 500 families.
Separate reports discuss related topics: a personal‑finance study by CVGroup Vilaseca Méndez in Spain, a productivity‑loss analysis for firms in Poland, a Chilean analysis of regulatory penalties that discourage SME growth, and the EU‑funded EDWIN project aimed at sustainable manufacturing of wind‑turbine components.
