Spain launches 5‑million‑euro coastal regeneration projects in Xàbia and Málaga

The regional government of Valencia has begun a 5‑million‑euro renovation of the Club Náutico Xàbia, upgrading the marina, adding pedestrian areas, a new pier with 40 berths, a sail school and green spaces. The 18‑month works will pause during the summer tourist season and resume in September.

In Málaga, the Spanish central government will start a nine‑month, 5‑million‑euro regeneration of the Baños del Carmen beachfront. The project includes cleaning the shoreline and relocating the protected marine limpet Patella ferruginea after an environmental study. Both initiatives are part of broader efforts to modernise Spain’s coastal infrastructure and boost tourism and local employment.
