Spain modernizes military infrastructure in Albacete and Zamora

The Spanish Ministry of Defense is proceeding with infrastructure modernization projects for military facilities. In Albacete, the Maestranza Aérea has awarded a contract to Elecnor Seguridad S. L. to upgrade its security and communication systems. The project, valued at approximately 95,877 euros including taxes, involves installing new fiber optics and electrical backup systems to ensure operational continuity during power or communication failures. The work is expected to be completed within two months of the contract formalization.

Simultaneously, the Army is advancing the Monte la Reina project in Zamora. This large-scale modernization effort covers 77 hectares and focuses on technological efficiency and environmental sustainability. The planned complex will utilize geothermal heating and cooling, a photovoltaic infrastructure with over 1,500 kilowatts of power, and advanced water management systems for rainwater collection and biological purification. Construction plans also emphasize low-carbon materials, including certified wood and recycled steel, to reduce the facility's environmental footprint.
