Spain national football team names squad for Wembley clash

Nations League Spain national football team Wembley Stadium Fabián Ruiz Fermín López

Spain national football team manager Luis de la Fuente has finalized his 23-man squad for the Nations League group stage opener against England at Wembley Stadium. To meet the roster limit, De la Fuente excluded Roberto Fernández, Iván Fresneda, and Víctor Muñoz from the initial 26-player group.

Several squad changes and jersey number updates were announced. Pau Cubarsí will wear number 5, while Fermín López takes the number 9 previously held by Gavi. Dean Huijsen will wear number 2.

Midfielder Fabián Ruiz approaches his 51st international match with Spain, maintaining an undefeated streak since his debut in 2019. Meanwhile, Fermín López discussed his return to the national team following a significant injury that prevented him from participating in the recent World Cup.
