Spain national team calls up Josep Martínez and Roberto Fernández

Martínez, who replaces the injured Joan García of Barcelona, receives this call-up following recent scrutiny regarding his performance with Inter Milan. Despite recent errors in club matches, Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has publicly defended the goalkeeper, stating that mistakes are part of the game and expressing full confidence in his abilities.

Additionally, Espanyol striker Roberto Fernández has also been named to the squad. His inclusion carries financial implications for his club; if the 24-year-old makes an appearance in any of the four upcoming matches, his release clause is set to automatically increase from 25 million euros to 30 million euros.
