Spain prepares public programs for August 12 total solar eclipse
The Museo de la Ciencia in Valladolid announced a series of activities ahead of the total solar eclipse on 12 August, including the planetarium show “3CLIPSE”, a 24‑hour “Planetarium on Guard” session, and a special €2 admission day with access to exhibitions and workshops. The museum also released a safety guide for eclipse observation in partnership with the Instituto Geográfico Nacional.
In Catalonia, Fundesplai launched the “Eclipsi per a tothom: Lleure” programme, offering workshops, practical activities and safe viewing instructions for children and youth. The initiative will be integrated into more than 1,800 summer sessions, aiming to reach around 110,000 participants, and was presented by the regional minister of Research and Universities, Núria Montserrat, alongside representatives of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation.
