International Day of Caregivers observed globally

Various regions and organizations are observing the International Day of Caregivers on November 5, highlighting the essential but often invisible labor of those supporting elderly, disabled, or dependent individuals.

In Spain, the ONCE organization dedicated its national lottery coupon to caregivers, while the Fundació Acércate in Catalonia uses art to provide well-being and training for approximately 300 caregivers. Additionally, the Hartmann company and the Lea-Artibai Commonwealth have launched initiatives to address caregiver burnout and provide legal and emotional support.

In Chile, the Los Ríos region is conducting a month-long program of activities to strengthen community support networks for caregivers through the National Support and Care System. Similarly, international recognition serves to distinguish between professional caregivers and family members, the latter of whom often perform unpaid labor without formal training.
