Spain reports containment of Nile virus mosquitoes in Huelva and Málaga

The provincial Pest Control Service in Huelva says mosquito reproduction is contained and a calm summer is forecast. They are monitoring tides, noting that March tides exceeded forecasts from the Navy’s Hydrographic Institute. Huelva has recorded a rise in Nile virus mosquitoes as spring begins.

In Málaga, traps targeting Nile virus mosquitoes have detected only 'minimal activity' as spring arrives. The season brings attention to mosquitoes, particularly Culex, the main transmitter of the Nile virus Occidental.
