Spain reports slight increase in quality of life for 2025
According to the Multidimensional Quality of Life Indicator (IMCV), quality of life in Spain saw a slight increase in 2025, rising to 101.74 points from 101.43 the previous year. The improvement was driven by gains in material living conditions, employment, health, education, environment, and general life experience.
However, certain areas saw declines, specifically leisure and social relations, as well as physical and personal security. The dimension of governance and basic rights remained unchanged as the 2025 survey did not include that specific module.
The latest report also introduced data disaggregated by sex, education, and nationality. Men recorded a higher global index (102.48) than women (100.59), though women scored higher in education and general life experience. Regarding nationality, Spanish citizens reported a higher index (102.76) compared to EU foreign residents (101.48) and residents from the rest of the world (97.28).
