Spain rolls out new primary care centre and underground hospital parking

Galicia's regional president Alfonso Rueda confirmed that the primary‑care reform plan will be presented in September. The plan includes adding nursing posts, podiatrists and other measures, and highlights the opening of the renovated Conxo health centre in August. The €5.5 million project expands the centre’s usable area from 400 to about 1,000 m², adding family‑medicine, nursing, minor‑surgery, urgent‑care and dental‑health units, as well as mental‑health and psychogeriatric services for more than 5,000 registered residents.

Separately, the regional health department is reviewing the design of a large underground parking facility for the Hospital Universitario de Cabueñes. The original plan called for roughly 1,000 spaces and may be slightly increased. The first construction phase is slated for a public tender in September, while the parking project remains under review after earlier delays in the hospital’s expansion works.
