Spain wins two silver medals at World Sprint and Paracanoe Championships

Spain has secured its first two medals at the World Sprint and Paracanoe Championships in Poznan, Poland. Laia Pelachs earned a silver medal in the K1 1,000m event with a time of 4:14.76, finishing behind Hungary’s Zsoka Csikos. The Spanish women’s K4 500 team, consisting of Sara Ouzande, Lucía Val, Daniela García, and Bárbara Pardo, also took silver with a time of 1:39.91, following the Chinese team.

Other Spanish athletes have advanced to various finals. Pablo Crespo qualified for the C1 1,000m final, while the men’s K4 500 crew—comprising Adrián del Río, Marcus Cooper Walz, Carlos Arévalo, and Rodrigo Germade—secured a spot in the final A. Additionally, Pablo Graña (C1 200m) and Carlos Arévalo (K1 200m) have also progressed to compete for medals.

In the paracanoe category, Araceli Menduiña advanced to the KL3 200m final after winning her semifinal. Meanwhile, Cuban athlete Yarisleidis Cirilo secured a place in the C1 200m final, finishing second in her heat behind American Nevin Harrison.
