Fuel prices fluctuate in Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Ecuador
Fuel and energy prices are undergoing various adjustments across several regions. In Mexico, the Comisión Reguladora de Energía (CRE) updated LP gas tariffs for the Veracruz-Boca del Río area for the period of August 9 to 15, noting a slight increase to 18.82 pesos per kilogram.
In the Dominican Republic, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Mipymes (MICM) announced increases for the week of August 8 to 14. Premium gasoline rose by RD$3.00 to reach RD$341.10 per gallon, while regular gasoline increased by RD$2.00 to RD$304.50. Diesel prices also saw hikes, though GLP and natural gas prices remained unchanged.
In Ecuador, President Daniel Noboa has anticipated a potential reduction in gasoline and diesel prices starting August 12. This follows a trend where the government may use subsidies to mitigate international market pressures, despite technical analysis suggesting that international derivative costs could push prices higher.
