Fuel and energy price fluctuations in Mexico and Dominican

Overview

Fuel and energy prices continue to show varied movements across Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

In Mexico, the Comisión Reguladora de Energía (CRE) updated LP gas tariffs for the Veracruz-Boca del Río area for the period of August 9 to 15, noting a slight increase to 18.82 pesos per kilogram. In Guanajuato, fuel prices remained relatively stable for the week of August 9-15; Magna gasoline saw a slight average decrease of one centavo per liter to 23.79 pesos, though some increases in Diesel were noted in the state capital and Celaya. In Hermosillo, average prices were reported at 23.96 pesos per liter for Magna, 29.14 pesos for Premium, and 26.94 pesos for Diesel.

In the Dominican Republic, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Mipymes (MICM) announced increases for the week of August 8 to 14. Premium gasoline rose by RD$3.00 to reach RD$341.10 per gallon, while regular gasoline increased by RD$2.00 to RD$304.50. Diesel prices also saw hikes, while GLP and natural gas prices remained unchanged.
