Spain sees up to €18.50 per tank price gap as fuel costs differ sharply by province

Recent data show fuel prices vary across Spain. The Canary Islands provinces – Las Palmas, Ceuta and Santa Cruz de Tenerife – have the lowest average prices for both gasoline (about €1.369 per litre) and diesel (about €1.399 per litre). On the mainland, Lleida is the cheapest peninsular province for gasoline at €1.480 per litre, followed by Barcelona (€1.500) and Almería (€1.514). Diesel is cheapest in Lleida at €1.472 per litre, with Navarra and Tarragona close behind. The Balearic Islands record the highest prices, with gasoline at €1.644 per litre and diesel at €1.650 per litre, creating a disparity of more than €0.27 per litre – over €15 on a 55‑litre tank.

In Segovia province, a 50‑litre tank can cost as little as €67.95 for diesel at low‑cost stations, but up to €86.45 at the most expensive, a gap of €18.50. For gasoline, the cheapest fill is €69.95 versus €84.45 at the priciest, a €14.50 difference. The figures, compiled from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition’s fuel‑price service, underline that choosing the right station can save drivers, families and professionals a noticeable amount each month.
